This is a 24-page guide for teachers. It contains proofs of Pythagoras's theorem and its converse, applications of Pythagoras's theorem and a discussion of Pythagorean triads. A history of Pythagoras's theorem concludes the module.
The modules are written for teachers, providing the mathematical background to help teachers plan the development of topics in their classrooms. This module relates to Module 23: Measurement and Geometry: Introductory trigonometry - teacher guide and Module 24: Measurement and Geometry: Further trigonometry - teacher guide. Together these modules provide material for teaching the Pythagoras's theorem and trigonometry components of the Australian curriculum for years 7 to 10.
